The aged BW family photos unresolved on one of a walls are a good denote that Magenta is indeed a family run restaurant. Its minimalist ambience with highlights of magenta tone is grand and mouth-watering alright though unfortunately we felt many of a food we had fell brief of expectations.
Familiar Western dishes browbeat a menu that also contains a small preference of Asian favorites such as Thai boiled rice. The owners seem to have soothing mark for Hainanese food too, as Hainan character Chicken Rice and Chicken Chop are also available.
Mango Prawn Cocktail @ RM16. The honeyed and proposal prawns are beguiling though a mango pieces are uninspired and do not supplement any genuine flavor.
Oxtail Stew with Red Wine Reduction @ RM30, rarely endorsed by a waiter. we have no qualms about a oxtail, that has a smashing brawny season and easily baked to a proposal texture. we only wished a salsa had a small some-more seasoning to it.
I consternation because is it so formidable to get a decent Hainanese Chicken Chop nowadays, they only don’t ambience like behind in a aged days anymore. The Magenta Chicken Chop @ RM29 is a bad try during recreating this sentimental plate – uninspring, tasteless tasting salsa and slimy boiled chicken. Maybe we should have systematic a Chicken Rice instead.
Signature Pistachio Cake @ RM12 – approach too squashy to be endorsed and severely lacking in pistachio season too.
Dilmah Jasmine Green Tea @ RM6, comes with a tea timer to safeguard your cuppa is brewed correctly.
Cappuccino @ RM12
Overall it was an groundless dish and with so many restaurants to select from within Publika, we consider Magenta will find it tough to contest with a rest in both peculiarity and price.
